FIELD DAY REMINDERS

NO PETS ALLOWED DURING FIELD DAY.

- While this is a “competitive day”, parents sometimes need to be reminded that this day is a day of fun for the children.

- There will be pennants “roping off” the field sidelines. Students are to STAY BEHIND the pennants and enter the field for events at the ends. DO NOT DUCK UNDER THE PENNANTS to enter the fields.

- There will be signs posted in front of tent assignments on field day, so please reassure parents we will make sure they know where to set-up when they arrive.

- It is the teacher’s responsibility to assign the children to the games, not the room parents. They will ensure that all children in the class participate in as many events as possible.

- Tug of War: This will take place on a separate day inside the gym. Students are not allowed to place the rope around their waist due to the risk of injury. No sticky spray, or similar substance, is allowed to be placed on soles of shoes. Teachers are allowed on the court for this event – students not pulling must stay seated in the designated areas. This event WILL count towards the total points earned this year!

- If it is extremely hot you might want to tell the parents to bring a cool washcloth for their student in a Ziploc bag.

- Distribution of Ribbons: 1st, 2nd, 3rd places for K-5, 1st & 3rd grade will also have a 4th place. Best Sportsmanship & Most Spirited will also be awarded so that all classes are recognized for their efforts regardless of total points earned.
